Short text
The great Babylon recently defeated the kingdom of Judah and took many Judeans into captivity. Now the threat from the Persians is also rising on the horizon of history for the conquerors. The Babylonian army is therefore on the move in the tributary provinces, forcing able men into military service.
The city of Bethulia resists the Babylonians and is besieged. In order to save the residents, the young widow Jehudit takes the fate of her town into her own hands. Through her clever actions she brings down the great empire of Babylon.
It is often the power of the weak that moves world history!
