II Data protection and social media
1) Use of social media plug-ins and tags
a) We currently use the following social media plug-ins on our website, including the associated pixels or tags: Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest.
b) The plug-in provider stores the data collected about you as usage profiles and uses these for the purposes of advertising, market research and/or customising its website. You have the right to object to the creation of these user profiles, whereby you must contact the respective plug-in provider to exercise this right. We offer you the opportunity to interact with the social networks and other users via the plug-ins so that we can improve our offering and make it more interesting for you as a user. The legal basis for the use of the plug-ins is Art. 6, para. 1, sentence 1, letter f) of the GDPR.
c) Further information on the purpose and scope of data collection and its processing by the plug-in provider can be found in the data protection declarations of these providers provided below. There you will also find further information on your rights in this regard and setting options to protect your privacy:
§ Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/policy.php,
§ Instagram: https://privacycenter.instagram.com/,
§ Pinterest: https://policy.pinterest.com/de/privacy-policy.
2) Integration of YouTube videos
a) We have integrated YouTube videos into our online offering, which are stored on http://www.YouTube.com and can be played directly from our website. These are all integrated in "extended data protection mode", i.e. no data about you as a user is transferred to YouTube if you do not play the videos. Only when you play the videos will the data described below be transmitted.
b) When you visit the website, YouTube receives the information that you have accessed the corresponding subpage of our website. In addition, the data mentioned under point I. 3) of this declaration is transmitted. This occurs regardless of whether you have a user account with YouTube and are logged in there or not. If you are logged in to Google, your data will be assigned directly to your account. If you do not wish your data to be associated with your YouTube profile, you must log out before activating the button. YouTube stores your data as usage profiles and uses them for the purposes of advertising, market research and/or customising its website. c) Further information on the purpose and scope of data collection and its processing by YouTube can be found in the privacy policy. There you will also find further information on your rights and setting options to protect your privacy: https://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy.
III Own services
Handling of applicant and author data
We offer you the opportunity to apply to us as an employee or to submit your work to us as an author (e.g. by e-mail, post or via the online application form). In the following, we inform you about the scope, purpose and use of your personal data collected as part of the application or offer process. We assure you that your data will be collected, processed and used in accordance with applicable data protection law and all other statutory provisions and that your data will be treated in strict confidence.
a) Scope and purpose of data collection. If you send us an application or a request for publication, we process your associated personal data (e.g. contact and communication data, application documents, notes taken during interviews, etc.) insofar as this is necessary for the decision on the establishment of an employment or contractual relationship. The legal basis for this is § 26 BDSG-new under German law (initiation of an employment relationship), Art. 6, para. 1, letter b) of the GDPR (general contract initiation) and - if you have given your consent - Art. 6, para. 1, letter a) of the GDPR. Consent can be revoked at any time. If the application or submission is successful, the data submitted by you will be stored in our data processing systems on the basis of § 26 BDSG-new and Art. 6, para. 1, letter b) of the GDPR for the purpose of implementing the contractual relationship.
b) Data retention period. If we are unable to make you a contractual offer, you reject a job offer or withdraw your application or request, we reserve the right to retain the data you have submitted on the basis of our legitimate interests (Art. 6, para. 1, letter f) of the GDPR) for up to 6 months from the end of the procedure (rejection or withdrawal of the application or request). The data will then be deleted and the physical documents destroyed. The retention serves in particular as evidence in the event of a legal dispute. If it is evident that the data will be required after the 6-month period has expired (e.g. due to an impending or pending legal dispute), the data will only be deleted when the purpose for further storage no longer applies.
