Collection: Dr Conny Burian

Dr Conny Burian grew up in the Rhineland. She holds a doctorate in English and has been teaching at the University of Calgary, Canada, since 2004. She has a particular interest in the literature of the High Middle Ages, which she also explores in depth with students in her university classes. Among other things, she has worked on Wolfram von Eschenbach’s Parzival.

In her novel “Die Nibelungendichterin” (The Nibelung Poetess), she addresses the large gaps in knowledge that exist in research regarding the authorship of the heroic epic.

AKRES Publishing - The publishing house for history, antiquity, society and archaeology

As a specialist publisher with a fiction product line, we publish literature related to history, art history, antiquity, contemporary history and archaeology. It is always our concern to relocate small and large issues alike and to acknowledge them appropriately.

Working closely with authors and editors, we encourage the publication of revised and updated new editions. With history and classical studies literature from different countries and in several languages, we cross historical borders and bring the international readership a whole lot closer!
